Sometimes using the same old brainstorming technique becomes a bore and is eventually counterproductive. Chances are likely you have been using the same method of organizing general information before starting a project. It is also likely that you are missing new information or even obscure trends and themes that have yet to find well circulated resources.
If you want to try something new, and make brainstorming and preliminary research fun again, try using social media for your research. Check out my article in the latest addition of FUMSI Magazine. http://web.fumsi.com/go/article/find/63873
The days of donating simply for the charitable giving tax break are on the back burner. If you imagine it in terms of the giver thinking strategically and donating as an investment, or for leverage purposes, you can modify your donation requests and marketing strategy to meet those needs.

Check out this great non-profit organization that is doing their part to help provide educational services to lower income communities. I recommend going to their homepage and read about what they do, you can make a donation right from the website.
PDX Summer School was founded by Tim Schulze who graduated from the University of Oregon in 2004 with a degree in psychology. In 2009 he earned his Masters in the Art of Education from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
PDX Summer School provides tutoring services for low income, ESL students from Mill Park Elementary in Portland Oregon. Many Mill Park students are in need of tutoring services over the summer in order to reach or maintain grade level proficiency. Because many of their students currently struggle to achieve grade level proficiency in one or more subjects, they are especially susceptible to a decline in their academic achievements over the summer. Lack of academic exercise during the summer months often exacerbates this problem (pdxSummerSchool.com).
